05 Jun No Peace!
Isaiah 48:22. There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked.
Isaiah 59:8. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings; they have made them crooked paths; whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
Ezekiel 7:25. Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
God alone is the source of peace. Isaiah prophesied and the New Testament confirmed that God’s peace would be mediated through a messiah. Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Prince of Peace. (John 4:25-26. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.)
Peace with God came through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Peace reigns in the hearts of everyone who believes on the Lord Jesus and confesses and turn from their sins. (See Isa. 26:3)
To not know the Lord in sweet salvation is to not know peace because he is the Prince of Peace. If you reject the Prince, then you reject his kingdom. His is a Kingdom of Peace which reigns within our hearts and souls. Yes, we will still have to suffer through our tests and trials, but we will have a peace within that those tests and trials cannot take away. There is a peace in knowing that we are not in those tests and trials alone. Daniel in the lion’s den did not shut the lion’s mouths himself. The 3 Hebrew boys that were cast in the fiery furnace was not alone as the king saw a fourth person, who looked like the Son of God.
Everyone will have storms in their lives, but it is a blessing to not have to be alone in those storms. It is a blessing to have Jesus in the storm with us so he can proclaim peace in the storm and no word returns unto him void. The winds will cease, and the waves will calm. If Jesus says, “Let us pass over to the other side.”, (See Mark 4:35-41) you will get to the other side. Jesus will be in the ship with you, he will never fall overboard, nor should you jump overboard, his peace and protection he will give to you.
But to weather the storms, and everyone will have them, you must have or possess his peace which he freely gives to all those who obey and trust him. I often hear people who publicly protest that say, “No Justice, No Peace”. I say moreover, “No Jesus, No Peace!” Ask Jesus to forgive you your sins and receive his peace.
John 14:27. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
