Surrender Young Man!

Surrender Young Man!

The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 12:1, “Remember now thy creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;”

This passage is admonition to young people to remember God, to trust God, to obey God before evil and sinful habits overtake you. Before Satan recruits you as a loyal servant to him. Later the years will draw nigh, will draw near, will draw to a close, and have you saying, “Where has the time gone, what have I done with my life?” You will have no pleasure and no peace in those years if you rejected God rather than remembering him.

It is far better to begin serving the Lord in your youth rather than in your old age. Of course, it is better to begin serving the Lord in your old age as opposed to not serving him at all. The Bible says in Mark 8:36, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (37) Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” So rather young or old, what shall it profit a man to continually reject God?

Old age comes with issues that youth, for the most part, doesn’t have to deal with. The accompanying aches and pains often brought about by “Arthur-ritis” for example. Unfortunately, oftentimes, older people are consumed by those infirmities and the related impact on their lives including monetarily. Consequently, they put the needs of their soul lower on their list of things to do. They generally have less inclination to turn to the Lord. Sinful habits are strengthened by long continuance which becomes a stronghold for the devil. Thus, there is little inclination for repentance, little for faith, and none for obedience. The years have drawn nigh! Strongholds are hard to brake.

Young people, remember God, now! The Bible says in II Corinthians 6:2b, “…behold now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation.” Though you are young, you have no certainty of life. Today is yours, tomorrow might not be. You may not be given the opportunity to grow old. Growing old is a beautiful thing when God is in your life.

God says his spirit will not always strive with man. When his spirit strives with you, when there is a knocking on your heart’s door, when your conscious is pricked, don’t reject him. Don’t reject the gift of eternal life through his son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is real and he’s coming back soon for those who turned away from their sins and turned to him. Almost everyone that has lived on this planet has tried something, good or bad, that they never tried before. Why not try Jesus? The Bible says in Psalm 34:8, “O taste and see that the Lord is good.” Experience God’s goodness for yourself. Discover the goodness that comes from a relationship with Him.

Surrender young man, young woman. Surrender your heart to him while sin is not dominating your life as it surely will if you put him off. Let Jesus take your sins and your sorrows. Jesus offers young people salvation. Satan offers young people suicide. Surrender to Jesus so he can season your youth with peace, purity, and precious promises. Surrender young Man!
