Circle: A community or group with shared interests revolving around a common center. A round enclosed area without showing point of beginning or end.
In the beginning before the Earth was, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit lived in the Circle of Life. They had a shared interest. The love of one another. That love between the three flowed purely and deeply. God decided to make the heavens and the Earth, so they all joined in on the creation.
Gen. 1:2; And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. There in the first chapter of Genesis, it describes the creation. God created the Universe so that it would reflect his glory and the beauty and love that existed between the three of them. God wanted the love of the Circle to expand to nature itself.
God decided and the three agreed to make man and include him in the circle. The circle is of love and purity and where there is no sin (Psa 92:15) within the circle. Gen. 1: 26; And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Gen2:7; And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (8) And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. (9) And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
God again extended the circle to include man. Being within the circle of love, man was the recipient of God’s great love and provision. Everything God provided for man was good and pleasant.
Man (Adam) was even given the opportunity to live in a never-dying body, a body that would never decay by eating of the tree of life. Gen. 2:16; And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: (17) But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die
Think now of when a person joins an auxiliary group or social group there are usually laws or by-laws that the members must abide by. When a person is hired and onboarded by a company they are presented with rules and regulations to follow. Here, Adam was given only one rule in being brought into the Circle of Love. Do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
God loved Adam so much that he decided it would be good for him to have a wife to be by his side and help him in all things. So he made him a wife from his side. Gen 2:21; And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh thereof; (22) And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. (23) And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
This was the first surgery ever done on man. So dear reader, if you ever must have surgery, it would benefit you greatly to have God with you because no one has more experience performing surgery than he. He did not even leave a scar.
Without being told Adam knew who his wife (Eve) was and from whence she came. There was no need to eat from the tree of good and evil to make one wiser. He was already wise. Gen. 3:6; And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food (plenty of those in the garden-the lust of the flesh), and that it was pleasant to the eyes (plenty of those in the garden-lust of the eyes), and a tree to be desired to make one wise (plenty of wisdom had already been exhibited by Adam, Eve simply had a desire that she wanted quenched-lust of the flesh), she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
The only way was for someone within the circle to bring man back and leave the sin without. Man had to be cleansed of the sin and the only cleansing that God would accept was through a blood sacrifice. He eventually allowed the blood of animal sacrifices to be a temporary cleansing, but it was not a thorough cleansing because man continually stooped to sin which God grew tired of. Isa 1:11; To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks or of lambs, or of he goats. God was tired of the meaningless, ritualistic, religious sacrifices. It showed no true love, only a form of it.
Jesus loved man but he loved his Father even more. He saw how it grieved his father that man continued to fall and did not know how to get up. They could not get up and back to the Circle of Life without a blood sacrifice that pleased God because sin could not enter in. Jesus offered to come among man in human form and rescue them through his own blood sacrifice.
God had by now wearied himself with man and destroyed them except for Noah and his family. Noah had found grace and favor in the eyes of God and was spared from the flood and then told to be fruitful and multiply. He promised Noah that he would no longer destroy earth with water again but by fire.
God was pleased that his son would extend such an offer but was man worthy of being rescued and saved? He trusted and tested man with one commandment and he failed. Man failed to show that he had the proper love for God and failed repeatedly. Would man even be able to prove to God that he was capable of loving him more than anything or anyone else? God got his answer.
Gen. 12: 1; Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (2) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. (4) So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him…(6) And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Gen. 17:5; Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. (19) And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. Gen. 21:1; And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. (2) For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. (3) And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac,
Gen. 22:1; And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. (2) And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the Land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. (3) And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
Gen. 22:9; And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. (10) And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. (11) And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said Here am I. (12) And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
God got his answer. Man was capable of loving God more than anything or anyone.
It was astonishing first of all, that Father, Son, and Spirit decided to include man in their circle of shared life. Secondly, the fact that God agreed to send his only begotten son to die for us, to return us to the circle, shows God’s immeasurable and everlasting love for us.
Jesus came to die for the sins of man. Sin is the profound spiritual disease that infiltrated humanity unleashed by Adam. Jesus died because God the Father refused to give up on man, still wanting him within the circle. Even when he destroyed mankind, he didn’t destroy everyone. God is not willing that any should perish but our sins separated us from him and the only reconciliation is through repentance, turning away from sin, and believing and accepting Jesus as our personal savior. Letting him take away our old life and giving us a new life in him. Since there was no sin in Jesus, if he truly abides in us, then he will keep us, since he knows how, from all willful sin. He won’t keep us from making mistakes, but he will keep us free from willful sin. It is through those mistakes that he gives us grace to grow and learn more about his way. John 3:16; For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
The Bible lets us know that God is love. That love gave his Son to us and restores us to his Circle of Life and Love. He did not create us to perish but he did create us with free will. A will to choose this day whom we will serve. The bible lets us know that is appointed unto men once to die and after that the judgment. Solomon lets us know in the Bible that everything is vanity. Meaning what? It means that everything and everyone here on earth that we attach ourselves to has an expiration date. It’s all a vapor, you can’t hold it and you can’t keep it. Here today and then gone. Please know that it is only one of two things that you can and will carry to the judgment from this life. Either you will carry the Son that you accepted or the sins that you are committing. That is it!
Since the bible lets us know that the only way to get to the Father is through the Son, the Son is your passport to Heaven. Sins are the passport to Hell. Isn’t it time you gave the earnest heed to your final destination? Jesus is not religion. He is redemption. Religion will not get you in because you can have it without having him. Being redeemed by his blood will. Thus being saved from sin will get you in.
Never forget God’s love for you. Love him in return. Jesus said if you love me, you will keep my commandments. Again, I think of Abraham’s love for his son which did not surpass his love for God. He was willing to sacrifice his son and had Isaac carry the wood for the sacrifice. God did sacrifice his son and had Jesus carry the wood, the cross, for the sacrifice. Both Jesus and Isaac had the opportunity to escape. Jesus was powerful enough; Isaac was youthful enough. Neither did. There were two young men that accompanied Isaac up the mountain. There were two young men that were on the mountain (Mt. Calvary) who died beside Jesus. All part of God’s wonderful and eternal plan.
Satan is already sentenced to Hell. He wants to bring as many souls with him as he possibly can and will try by whatever means necessary. Unbelief is his biggest and time-tested weapon. Adam and Eve actually fell before they ate the fruit. They fell when they stopped believing the truth and believed the lie of the serpent. He convinced them that they were missing out. He does the same thing today. If you believe his lies the only thing you will be missing out on is heaven. Another lie he puts forth is that you will have time later to get saved. Do we all not know someone who passed away unexpectedly?
We owe our love and lives to Jesus for dying in our stead. Most people only think of his three-year ministry. To relegate the suffering of Jesus Christ, the agony that he bore, to just three years is to miss the point entirely. His whole life was a harrowing ordeal of struggle, suffering, trials, tribulations, temptations, and pain. From the manger to Mt. Calvary, people were looking to kill him. He was human and because of the love of his Father he chose to always say yes to God and no to Satan.
What a cross to bear even before he got to the cross. He knew if he had failed God and us and sinned, he would have ceased to be the Father’s beloved son. He would have had nothing to offer a fallen humanity and would himself had become just another man estranged from God.
In conclusion, love God with all your might, all your soul, all your heart, and all your mind. He proved his love for us through his son. Let’s prove our love for him through his son. Be ready because soon our passports will be checked. God bless you!
