Adam stood in the garden of Eden’s gentle light, Surrounded by trees and each fruit was a delight. Nothing was lacking, all his needs were supplied, Every chance to flourish, nothing but one tree denied.
While yet in abundance, Adam made a choice, One not swayed by hunger or even by a voice. But moved by unbridled love that steered his misguided way, He cherished his wife’s wishes more than God’s word that fateful day.
There was no lack of trees thus there was every reason for Adam to succeed, Had he obeyed God there would be no reason for Jesus to come and bleed. But with love for the woman stronger than God’s command, Adam let the Garden of Eden slip right out of his hand.
Jesus loved to pray and walk in Gethsemane’s Garden, The place he got the victory so we could get a pardon. Before and after Gethsemane’s Garden, Jesus encountered folks full of unbelief, Nearly every step he took was met with opposition and with grief.
Every step he took was a step towards a gloomy and foreboding Golgotha’s Hill, He knew that without a blood sacrifice mankind’s death sentence would be upon us still. Forsaken by crowds and abandoned by his friends, Still his forgiveness upon the cross knew no ends
He gazed beyond the taunts and beyond all the hostile jeers, And saw every heart that would need salvation down through the years. Today, salvation is ours, a gift that we did not earn, It’s the gift we received when from sin we turned.
So let us always walk in God’s Garden with great appreciation, And thank and praise God for being part of his Holy creation. Now forgiven, cherished, obedient, and walking in his light, A people that declares war on the devil as we keep heaven in sight.
