The Final Day

I sit here with pen to paper feeling some kind of a way,

I’m feeling sad and burdened writing about that final day.

The final day I’m writing about is when Jesus comes again,

It’s a day that absolutely no one should be caught in their sin.

I truly wish there was some other subject that I would be writing about,

God impressed me to write this, so I did, not wanting my soul to be lost.

It’s time for people to discern the times and to listen to his word,

Saints, we must witness to others so that his truth can be heard.

The truth is that Satan is spreading darkness as a plague,

People are so aimless, it’s like they are running in a maze.

The news we hear seems to be always of gloom and despair,

Because of the times we are in, no doubt, we’ll soon see Jesus in the air.

God is merciful, it’s true, but he also said he would not be mocked,

Soon the gate to salvation for many will eternally be locked.

People are killing people, even their own family, with no regard to life,

Our government and society is filled with turmoil, anger, and strife.

Government is no longer for the people, it’s just for a privileged few,

People are scared, confused, and anxious because they don’t know what to do.

God said in his word that men should fear him and keep his commandments,

Man, instead, has rejected God while embracing sin, chaos, and arrogance.

Can people not see that time is going by so fast,

It’s rushing to meet eternity; the die is already cast.

The Bible says unless the days are shortened no one will be saved,

We must always stay prayerful and with God’s son always be engaged.

People now think sin is just a natural way of doing things and offer little to no remorse,

They think that God is okay with sinful living and that doing the best you can is life’s best course.

The devil wants nothing more than for a soul to believe that and to be lost forever,

He loves for people to be liars, thieves, murderers, adulterers, or even an embezzler.

He loves it because he knows those who do such things, and more, are soon his to keep,

Saints, we used to do those things too but now he just simply wants to put us to sleep.

He does not want us to be watchful as Jesus said to do,

Satan could care less if every Sunday we’re sitting on a pew.

Do you not get the feeling that the trumpet is soon to sound,

The trumpet that will indicate time’s up as it blows so loud.

The wailing and crying will be more than anyone’s ever heard,

People will see that the thought “no one can live free from sin” was truly absurd.

People will cry for mercy even though the time for mercy is right now,

Repent of your sins today and make serving Jesus your vow.

Even when on earth, Jesus often found it necessary to kneel and pray,

We’ll need to do that and more to survive The Final Day.
