What State Are You Moving To?

In the United States there are 50 states a person can live in. Often-times a person decides to move from one state to another for various reasons. Sometimes that move is in a person’s total control and sometimes it is not.

After we die, we also move to one of two states. A state of peace, joy, and contentment in heaven or a state of misery and torment in hell. Remarkably, we are in total control of which state we move to. Make no mistake about it, moving day is coming for us all. Hebrews 9:27 states that it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. So, we have an appointed moving day. It is at the judgment that it will be determined which state you will be moving to. Ecclesiastes 12:14 states that God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. So, as I stated earlier, we control the outcome. It is God who makes the decision but if our work was good, if we followed his only begotten son and abided in him with sins forgiven, the decision will be in our favor. We can expect to live in that state of peace and contentment in heaven.

However, if we choose to reject his son and allow our flesh and the devil to do whatever it wants to do then the state of misery and torment in hell will be our future residence. Our future residence is totally in our own control because we are free-will beings. Joshua stated in Joshua 24:15, And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; …but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

2 Peter 1:10-11 states, to give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall, (11) For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

But…John 8:21 states, Then Jesus said again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

We know that Jesus is sitting in heaven at the right hand of the Father so then he is obviously in the state of peace, joy, and contentment. Die in your sins and it will be that other state that you will forever be in. Lost forever.

So please, as Peter said, make the choice of your final state absolutely sure.
