Still No Room

Still No Room

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luke 2:7

A manger was used to place the best lambs for sacrifice. The lambs were swaddled and placed in the manger so they would be calm and unblemished to therefore be used in sacrifice. Jesus was born in a place used for birthing sacrificial lambs. The male lambs born in that place, and others like it in the Bethlehem area, were to be used exclusively in the temple. They were set aside to be the tamil, or the morning sacrifices which began each day. They were also used for the burnt offerings. The female lambs were used in the temple for peace offerings. However, the most common usage for these lambs that were born in Bethlehem was this: they were destined to become Passover lambs. The manger is symbolic of Jesus, the sacrificial lamb, becoming the sacrifice for all mankind’s sins.

When God was preparing to send the death angel to Egypt, the children of Israel were instructed to put a sacrificial lamb’s blood on their doorposts so that the death angel would pass them by. However, it was voluntary, no one forced them to apply the blood. The application of the blood to their doorpost saved them from physical death.

Centuries after that and centuries before today, Jesus came to earth to be a sacrificial lamb to save mankind from spiritual death. He was born to save his people FROM their sins. Anyone who accepts the sacrifice Jesus made and applies his blood to the doorposts of their heart through repentance and turning from sin are saved. The fount is open full and free but on a voluntary, free-will basis. Choose you this day whom you will serve!

False prophets, preachers, and teachers have been saying for years that no one can live free from sin but dear reader, when man was first created by God, there was no sin in him, hence sin is not a necessary part of man. God put in man everything he needed. He did not put sin in man thus sin is NOT a necessary component of our lives. Yes, we were all born into sin. Yes, the bible tells us that. But is also tells us (Romans 6:1-2) “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” There is provided for us, through the blood of Christ, the most wonderful portions of grace to live a sin-free life we could ever imagine, but like any good coach will tell their team striving for victory, “You gotta want it.”

So, in conclusion, are you willing and wanting to accept Jesus as your personal savior. You have to let go of things that might be hindering you from applying his blood to the doorpost of your heart. Otherwise, there will be no room for him in your heart, in your life. The bible says (Rev. 22:10-11) “And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy: let him be holy still”

Don’t let Jesus say to you, “Still no room?”
